Visual Devotion: From Pain to Pearl

Thursday, December 27, 2012

Pain, Pain and more pain, with seemingly no relief...just one grain of sand that gets stuck in this poor oysters flesh. Contrary to most though, our friend the oyster will take this tiny grain of sand and polish it until it becomes a radiant pearl. I think sometimes we need to take our grains of sand and choose to be an oyster. To polish and polish a seemingly painful and irritating thing, causing it to become something beautiful and sought after. We can take the pain, the hurt, the misery and let it teach us, embrace it, polishing it, by choosing to be joyful, not becoming bitter and using it to help others going through the same hard times. Be encouraged! You will come through and Today's pain can become tomorrow's radiant pearl!

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecclesiastes 3:11

Falling in Love with Coral

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

I think I am falling in love with sea corals.  It is so much fun to paint and each one is so different and unique.  I am finding out how much of a minimalist I really am.   As each finished painting tends to have untouched white space.  It feels peaceful and calming to me that way.  Keep your eye out for more coral paintings in the days ahead:)

Finding Beautiful

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

As I start my new life here in Florida, I am on an adventure- an excursion of sorts....I call it "Exploration...Finding Beautiful"... I will be pulling together ideas for my dream home.  Finding my likes and dislikes along the way.  This area is just Stunning! I love the clean, crisp feel! Designed by Lindy Allen of Four Chairs Furniture photographed by hiya papaya   http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2012/12/four-chairs-furniture-hiya-papaya.html

Moving for the Holidays

                                                    basiclabelsweden.blogspot.com

As the New Year approaches I decided to have my hand at the real bloggin' life.  I had always used this blog for Illustration Friday but I decided to make it into my Creative Journal space.  My Visual Devotions:)  So it is December and my family and I packed up the Budget Rental truck with all of our belongings and moved on faith from North Carolina to Florida.  No job for hubby as of yet, just my Etsy income at the moment.  So this is the first Christmas since being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1999, that I have not been able to decorate for the Holidays.  So...I decided to post this beauty in simplicity photo as my little bit of Christmas Cheer:)  And as a reminder that the Light of the World came to the most simple and humble of places to be born...a stable and a manger that was filled with such light and love that the world had yet to know:) Hope you all have a very blessed Christmas!
