I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it
remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.- John 12:24
In this verse Jesus was referring
to His death and resurrection. This verse is also about spiritual brokenness
and surrender to God. Brokenness will
produce a harvest of abundance, once we are completely surrendered. Jesus was
teaching that as long as the grain remains unplanted and un-yielded, it cannot
bear fruit. For me personally…I
absolutely loved my job as a Sheriff’s Deputy.
God however was calling me to lay down my job and begin to do something
I did not know how to do, "Paint"….Fear
set in, I fought and fought the promptings of the Lord to paint…I didn’t even
know where to begin…I had never even picked up a paint brush… so, I remained un-yielded
for quite some time. It wasn’t until I
became sick that I was forced to give up my job anyway. Once I was finally broken and yielded before
the Lord, I surrendered and began to paint.
God gave me something more beautiful than I could ever ask for. He showed me what I was truly born to doJ So this week ask yourself
this question … What is Jesus
saying to me personally about surrender in my life?
I love your paintings, Kelly. Keep listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
