IF: "Hurry"

Monday, June 4, 2012

Loggerheads are considered an endangered species and are currently protected.  The birthday of one of these cute little guys is pretty amazing.  The tiny hatchlings dig thier way through the sand to the surface.  Most often this occurs at night, when the darkness increases the chance of escaping predators and damage from extreme sand surface temperatures.  The hatchlings hurry to  the ocean by navigating toward the brighter horizon created by the reflection of the moon and starlight off the water's surface.  They go towards the Light... Once they safely find their way to the water they are finally at home... The journey of these little ones reminded me of the verse in John 8:12  which says,

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

The only way we can make it safely to our home in Heaven is to Follow the Light of this world: )  Jesus!

  2. HI Kelly!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog... and I'm so glad I stopped by yours! I could tell right away that we're on the same page! It's so good to find other believers in the blogging world, and especially on IF!

  4. Love the painting. I will have to show it to my little boy. We have a pond out back and the mommy turtles make their way up to our yard and dig holes and lay eggs. I've found two little turtles wandering around lost this year so far. The mommies fail to take into account that having a big house to navigate around can confuse a little brand new turtle. We give them a helping hand to find the pond.

  5. Kelly I wish you could compile a book with your paintings to teach children about God's creation while teaching them a scripture and learning about each species. Heck your teaching me as well!
